Tool privacy
Your files stay in the tab.
The ZIP Compressor is designed so that file names and contents never need to leave your device. This page describes exactly what the tool handles and what it does not.
Last updated: October 2026
In short
No upload endpoint. No file storage.
Files are read locally
When you choose files or folders, the browser gives the page permission to read them. The compression worker uses that access to build the archive. The data is not sent to the host.
Downloads are created in memory
The finished archive becomes a Blob URL inside the page. Your browser downloads it directly. The host does not generate or serve the ZIP.
No analytics in the tool
The compressor does not include analytics or advertising scripts, and it does not send file names, file counts, or archive sizes to a tracking service.
What is processed
Only what the job needs.
- File names, relative paths, sizes, and contents of the files you select.
- The name you type for the output archive.
- For an existing ZIP: the entries, dates, permissions, and comments exposed by the archive you load.
- Temporary progress state while the worker is running.
What is not sent
No file content leaves the browser.
- No selected file or archive is uploaded to a YunoNext server.
- No file names or contents are written to a database or object store.
- No account is created, and no email address is required.
- The compressor does not set advertising cookies or share data with ad networks.
Details
Network requests, storage, and retention.
Network requests
Loading a page on any website involves requests for the page, styles, scripts, and fonts. The host may keep ordinary server logs for those requests, such as an IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. Those logs do not contain the files you select in the compressor.
Local browser storage
The compressor keeps selected files and a finished archive in memory only. It does not put your files in localStorage, IndexedDB, or a service worker cache. The site’s theme toggle stores a theme preference in your browser so the choice can persist between visits; that preference is not file data.
How long data stays
Selected files and archive contents remain available only while the page is open. Reloading or closing the tab discards them. A downloaded ZIP is saved wherever your browser saves downloads, under your control.
Third-party code
The ZIP engine, JSZip, is bundled with the site’s own assets rather than fetched from a third-party CDN. The page loads fonts from the site’s own build as well. No file data is passed to those assets.
Security is not a malware scan
Local processing reduces exposure, but it does not make an unknown file safe. The compressor validates ZIP structure while compressing; it does not scan file contents for malware. Treat archives from untrusted sources with the same caution you would use anywhere else.
Site-wide policy
The YunoNext site privacy page covers the rest of the website. This page describes the ZIP Compressor specifically.
